Tips on: Entertainers/Beer/Food/Toys/Shopping/ Locations/Etc. All the cool info. contained on this page is free, the services aren't. When you are setting up a party it's best to have it well organized and as smooth running as possible. We at Flashdance have experienced many approaches at party planning. Everything from no plan (get a entertainer here an hour ago!!!) to very well thought out high-end, formal, catered events. We would enjoy assisting you and making your party stand out as a true event that will elevate your reputation. Best to talk with us personally - we'll gladly spend as much time advising you as you desire. That's a big part of the service we provide. Here are a few tips: Get a "ball park" idea on how many guests you will be expecting. This plays a big part in planning as to where a good location would be. We have seen 30 guys try to party in a small apartment . OUCH!! Then there's the food/beverage question. It really can embarrass a host to be caught short at the most inopportune time. Making a run in the middle of the entertainment to replenish the shortage is disappointing to say the least. Also the number of guests plays a part in which program would be best suited and how many entertainers may be required, etc.
Beer etc. You don't want to be 3/4's the way through the party (the Entertainment is really cooking) and have to make a "Beer Run". Always have a few cases (24's) pulled back (known about only by those to be trusted) and resist the temptation to pull them out early. A word about "For the Road" (From Men's Health, March 1999) When your buddy heads for his car with six drinks in him, de-key him with this contest of skill. (It beats a headlock.) If he passes, use the headlock anyway! THE TIME TEST: Have him stand with his feet together, eyes closed, and head tilted back. Ask him to count silently and to tell you when 30 seconds have passed. Unless he's sober, he'll probably miss the mark by 10 seconds or more. "Trying to stay balanced while estimating time is difficult even when you're just a little intoxicated" says Dr. Modesto-Lowe. Never ruin a party by letting someone drive after drinking. We've experienced events where the host has pulled ALL the guests car keys at the door. No one had any problems with it. After all he was looking out for everyone's best interest. More than a few parties have been interrupted by a need to run to the nearest ATM machine for greenbacks. This is deplorable conduct when the entertainer is about to show you what he or she is made of !!! Agree? Please, please have enough cash on hand for all of the guests to enjoy the party without missing any part of it!! Remind your guests to bring whatever cash they feel they will need without stepping out to obtain more. The same is for food (although beer runs are more prevalent!). Have more than enough because it's amazing how much can be consumed. Also, over the years we have found that our parties, more often than not, have more guests than the host originally thought. One of the best points on having a KILLER party is in the planning. If you are having a limo picking you and your guests up at say 10PM and want an hour show, have the entertainment come at 8:45. We often run long on the time, and have found many limos arrive on time/or somewhat late. Also invitations add a cool effect and do the R.S.V.P. thing. (Remember the head count above?) It works! If you have found a truly
professional, friendly and helpful service provider such as a party place, limo
company, or store with really neat stuff, please let us know. We enjoy
hearing about/meeting with people who have it together. And we will gladly mention them on
our site. Here >
